Nationwide Call to Action: Trader Joe’s Drop Perdue‘s Petaluma Poultry

Date & Time: Saturday June 28th, 8:00PM

Location: 819 Camino del rio North, San Diego

About:

Join us in San Diego as part of a coordinated nationwide action against Trader Joe’s and Perdue’s Petaluma Poultry.

Trader Joe’s continues to sell criminally abused chickens from Perdue’s Petaluma Poultry in their own packaging despite thousands of social media comments, emails, phone calls, letters, and store protests asking them to cut ties.

Direct Action Everywhere investigations have revealed widespread cruelty, neglect, and disease at Perdue’s Petaluma Poultry facilities, including birds who are so sick and injured they are unable to walk to food or water, birds with open wounds, and birds who entered the slaughterhouse scalder while still conscious and were boiled alive. These findings have been reported to authorities and to Trader Joe’s but they have failed to take action to stop this abuse. Instead, investigator and animal rescuer Zoe Rosenberg is facing 5 years in prison for rescuing four chickens from Perdue’s Petaluma Poultry slaughterhouse.

During this protest, we will once again ask Trader Joe’s to do the right thing and drop Perdue's Petaluma Poultry as a supplier.

ACCESSIBILITY: Standing and walking short distance
WHO: Everyone is welcome! If you're nervous, you can come observe or hold a sign quiet

San Diego Urge Soulja Boy and Bow Wow to Boycott SeaWorld

Date & Time: Saturday, July 12th - 6:00 - 7:30PM

Location: Sea Lions drive, 500 SeaWorld drive, SD.

https://maps.app.goo.gl/oU6J93oaYPE9vXg58)

About:

Please join local PETA supporters to protest Soulja Boy and Bow Wow's concert at SeaWorld and urge them to cancel their performance and boycott the abusement park.

For years, PETA and our supporters have campaigned hard against SeaWorld, where more than 40 orcas and over 500 other dolphins and whales have died, and we’ve scored many victories for animals along the way. Orcas, like Corky, SeaWorld’s oldest prisoner, and other dolphins and whales belong in their ocean homes, where they can swim long distances and exist in harmonious pods. But at SeaWorld, they're confined to concrete tanks, given psychoactive drugs, and housed incompatibly, leading to violent bullying and fighting.

We need YOUR help to persuade Soulja Boy and Bow Wow to cancel their performances at the abusement park and boycott SeaWorld and any other place that exploits animals.

Can you join us?

CONTACT: Maria Leonardi, MariaL@peta.org

All materials (such as posters and leaflets) will be provided. Please dress sharply in a black PETA t-shirt and black bottoms, as this will help our message come across much stronger!

Please refrain from bringing dogs, as there may not be shade or a safe place for them to lie down during the protest.

Outreach events are a fun and effective way to help animals as well as meet local advocates, so be sure to invite others!
